My Classic Cars

IMG_2973

I have to admit I'm not normally a car kind of girl. But when it comes to classic cars... I turn to putty. I love them. I want them. I pet them ever so lightly. I whisper to them. I gaze lovingly into their headlights.

Apparently there is a classic car show every Tuesday minutes from my house. I've only just discovered it. I think it inspired me to start playing the lottery.

Check out my post HERE about the car show and the beauties I saw.

Question of the day: If you could have an extra vehicle (one that doesn't need to hold 25 kids or car seats or get good mileage or conserve gas or be environmentally friendly or fit in your garage) what would it be?

~If you don't care about cars and are sick of my links rest assured that tomorrow I'll be showing you a sample of our wedding invitations!~

  1. I know it is weird--but I love the little tiny smart cars. Not classic at all. I'll never own one--they are just too small, but I love them! Can't wait to see your invites!

  2. Oh man, if I didn't have to haul around a 75 pound dog and all that gardening stuff I would love to have a Mini Cooper. Of course, I live in an area where this in a very impractical car in the winter time....we sometimes get 125+ inches of snow between November and April. But a girl can still dream.

  3. I like the old hoopty pick-ups or some old racy little sports car would be fun.

  4. The Mini Cooper is cute. But I think I'd go for a Miatta or BMW Z4.

  5. I'd have a classic ford pickup. My hubby would know all the years, but I just want an old one. :)

  7. I always wanted a VW Cabriolet Convertible. We saw one last weekend while traveling and I stated how I always wanted one. A white one.

My son said it did look like a "girlie" car.

  8. when I graduated from highschool I wanted to be a mechanic and got my tools and tuition in order...I was given a family heirloom to restore, a 61 plymouth fury with a push button tranny and a v8, shortly after beginning
my parents could no longer afford the storage and GAVE IT AWAY WITH MY TOOLS STILL IN THE CAR.....I still die when I think about it...very few things make me instantly ill like that did...luckily I bribed the guy at the wrecking yard to look up the car and see what happened to it...a classic car guy is taking good care of it...My husband has been trying to find me one ever since...to no avail they are pretty rare. AHH this post makes me cry...I never became a mechanic I am too scarred.

  9. I would get a BMW Z4. I nearly bought one the month before I met my husband. Either that or a Jeep, yellow, 4x4, KC lights...oh my!

Looking forward to invitation peek tomorrow, too!!

  10. I think I would get an old classic Ford Thunderbird convertible. The ones with the fins on the back and something in baby blue perhaps.

  11. I love your pictures here :) I really want a classic old pickup just for a driveway ornament, parked next to the garage. But truthfully, I dream about having a '66 Mustang again. I cried the day I sold mine, and have regretted it ever since. Hope you get that dreamy classic of your own someday! -Tammy

  12. I would LOVE a mini cooper. Preferably with Marky-Mark as the driver.... (can't remember the name of that movie...)

  13. It was the Italian Job! And I want to look like Charlize Theron :)

I want a Cadillac with big fins. Somthing around the '57-59 years.

  14. I would get either a Ford GT500 Shelby mustang, or a Dodge Challenger (1970) Hemi...I think?

  15. I would absolutely positively buy a mustang.

    Red.

    Convertible.

I'd just have to plan ahead for the speeding tickets.

  16. One of my first cars was a 1962 Ford Falcon, baby blue. Other kids were driving BMW and we were putting along with the Falcon. I would love to have it back now. It was definitely a classic.

  17. I want a 60's or 70's model VW bug.
I love them and whenever I see one on the road I start to dream of the time when I don't have kids and can get one of my very own.
That or a VW bus from the 60's complete with the hippy paint job and surfboard rack.

  19. BTW, I once drove (for years) a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville. Loved the look. Hated the bill at the gas pump. That car ended up in the local demolition derby, a sad demise for a gorgeous boat, er, I mean Car!

  24. Heheh. We both have the same feelings towards classic cars. I love it when a classic car is cruising around town. I get this happy feeling in my stomach when I see a well-maintained vintage still being used. I’ve always wanted to try living in the old times. heheh.

  25. Indeed, you can never turn down the regal beauty of vintage cars. That Pontiac Catalina is totally gorgeous! I especially love its hardtop body styles. Have you seen the 1967 convertible Pontiac Catalina? That’s my favorite. :]

  26. Well, I observed that as I grow older, I grow more fond of classic cars. I love going to car shows because it is where I find the opportunity to explore a lot of things regarding vintage cars. I really learn a lot more every time I visit a vintage car show! :D
