Bridal Shower Preview

Its late and I'm forcing myself to go to bed even though I want to sit up and go thru all of my presents one by one. Its like Christmas! It was so completely wonderful and the theme was totally me and totally not me which you'll understand more of later.

Here I am with some of my family! They include my mom, my aunts, my grandma and my cousins wives. (and I'm wearing one of my new aprons)

Thank you to Celeste my lovely, lovely friend who took over my camera and took 200 pictures. She did really and I'm so happy! I had a shower in Sacramento and got about 5 pictures. But B's mom just mailed me hers so you will be seeing those as well!

The shower had a retro/mid-century theme that followed all the way down to the food. For the record, this was the first time I ever had jello-molded thingie.

I received three different aprons. One was elegant, this one was sooo adorable (I will take a picture of the back soon) and the other one was..... um..... errr.... lacy (and it came with a tickler, thats right, I said tickler)

Can you believe this loot?! I can hardly wait to get home from work tomorrow and subject you to thousands of blog posts on the importance of the perfect white dinner plate and a 1950's toaster.

  1. Oh what fun!! The theme was over the top fantastic!!
I love that cupcake apron and if it comes within one square mile of me, I will snatch it away from you and not feel bad about it. At all.
I must see more photos of your loot!
PS You are so cute and pretty at the same time.

  2. Oh my gosh, how fun!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear more about it!

  3. I love your apron! I don't use aprons when I cook/bake, but I love them... and I have three (which I've never used.)

You look fab in that apron, by the way. :)

Can't wait to read more about your shower and your loot!

  4. "Lucy, I'm home!" Fabulous apron! I'm excited for you to share. Jello molds? I had one of those at one time...hmmm...wonder where it went.

  5. So fun---oh my gosh---when I saw that jello mold I wondered WHAT IN THE WORLD----so glad you told me it was a theme party and not someone's serious idea of shower food! What a great idea~My daughter is getting married this summer, so I'm all over the wedding thing! Have a great week~

  6. That is so excellent and Oh My Gosh I have that SAME picnic basket! Only I have to tell you that mine belonged to my grandparents and is now almost 60 years old.

  7. I thought about you this weekend! You look just adorable in your aprons ... tickler? I'm intrigued!
Isn't it great to have the love and support of family. They look like a great crew! I know how happy they must be to share this special time with you!

OMG -- a Jello mold! Used to make those all the time! It wasn't a party without one!

  8. I love that theme! Oh, and you apron is absolutely adorable! Love it :)

  9. How great all this vintage stuff is! I can't wait to see even more pictures of how adorable all this stuff is! Looking forward to the toaster and to top it all off, loving the cupcake apron. Goes hand in hand with your cupcake posts!

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  10. There is nothing quite like a Crate & Barrel box, is there?

That cupcake apron is THE CUTEST THING EVER.

  11. What an adorable theme for a wedding! You, my dear, look fabulous!! And I love those aprons.

Can't wait to see more pics ... and now I'm excited for my shower in April!! :-)

  12. SOOOO fun! Cute apron! My gripe with cute aprons is they are too cute toactually cook in...but with a tickler... well that's a whole different story..

  13. I adore aprons, and love to wear them in the kitchen... Every woman should have several!!

    A tickler? (me, laughing hysterically...)

You have a ton of loot there, and I see several Crate and Barrel boxes. Let me know when I should come help you lighten your load...

  14. It looks like you had so much fun! Treasure those memories!! I'm sure you will.

  15. Oh, how fun! Look how your friends love you.
