Just checking in!

Preview of Sacramento get-together

I meant to post today but I got the sudden urge to clean our bathrooms from floor to ceiling. Of course I had to have B disassemble the tub fixtures for a thorough cleaning/ bleaching. Why do apartments use clear plastic fixtures? After that the baseboards looked dirty and needed to be wiped down. Once the baseboards were wiped down I noticed all the scuffs in the craptastically cheap white apartment paint. I swear I leave marks if I brush up against a wall in dark jeans. I tried to magic eraser some of the marks. Oh and the vents got swiffered which really is a fiasco because I can't open them and swiffer the inside. I swear I just kept pulling more dust bunnies out and made the biggest mess on the carpet that was just vacuumed... which is fine because I plan on cleaning the carpets anyhow.

I also managed to make a list about 40 pages long of chores to be done this week. My mom is coming over to help me and B practically has a work schedule after work. Plus, we should have a new vehicle by the weekend. I just need to figure out how to install a car seat. Why do these things come with 25 pages of instructions? Is it just a scare tactic?

Can you tell I'm just a little hopped up right now? It's nearly 10 pm and I'm resisting the urge to nail a few things to the wall because I'm pretty sure my neighbors wouldn't appreciate it. Besides, B has me on lock down with close activity supervision because I fell on Monday and scared off at least 5 years of his life.

It was rainy and I stepped onto a painted curb, slipped off and landed myself in the gutter. He was only about 2 feet ahead of me and I will never forget the look on his face when he turned around. I was literally laying in the gutter. I am fine, the baby is fine and now I apparently cannot be trusted to walk unsupervised. :) I am a bit bruised, including a bruise on my rib and one on the side of my stomach that the baby keeps repeatedly kicking. It's quite annoying to have a bruise kicked from the inside out.

Friday afternoon I'll have a post up about the family get together we had in Sacramento. I knew I wouldn't have time to get a full post together tonight and I didn't want to go days without a post because you might all think that I'd gone into labor.

I have full intentions of keeping you up-to-date on any baby arrivals. The hospital does have free wifi....

  1. You know you're just about there when you start "nesting". I'm surprised your neighbors haven't gotten the broomstick and banged on the wall. Glad that you and Peanut are fine after the fall. Waiting to hear the good news.

  2. Thanks for the little update :-)
I was quite shocked to see the 20 on top of your blog when I got here today. I hadn't realized you're so close to due date. I'll keep you in my prayers, that everything goes smoothly whenever it's time.

    Have a great weekend.

  3. Nesting much?

PS. You are so not allowed to fall! I freaked just reading the sentence HMPH!

I'm pretty sure I'm down for Bakerella on Monday. and you should totally tweet the birth. Just sayin...

  4. Oh bless you, glad you're both fine! Oh the madness of the last weeks and the nesting. I suddenly had superhuman strength and was shifting furniture and mopping the kitchen floor multiple times a day (after not cleaning it for about a year - I am slovenly in ways that shame me!)

    Eek! So excited for you!

  5. Believe me.. we've lived here for 2 1/2 years and it's never gotten most of this cleaning.

Court- I would totally tweet the birth but I don't have internet on my phone- ha! I don't think they'll allow me to have my laptop going.. but the nurse said people are always getting on their laptops to share pics afterwards.

  6. Oh man, when I read that you are cleaning I think "Baby time!!" My house was never so clean as the couple of weeks before the birth of a progeny.

Hopefully the little package that I sent on Wednesday gets there soon.

  10. Ok, this comment is for "B". This girl is obviously not to be trusted in any way shape or form! She needs constant supervision and more rest!

Whew, glad I got that off my chest.

Take care of yourself sweetie, you're almost there!

  13. Yay! Its almost time for Peanuts arrival when the nesting is all finished of course :)
I remember being on my hands and knees scrubbing my kitchen floors 2 days before my daughter was born, the mop just wasn't cleaning to my standards. Plus it was easy to plan all my nesting time since I had a scheduled C-section. I just had to show up to the hospital and say " I have a 10:30 appointment to have my baby". LOL It was perfect for a super planner like me.

  14. Glad to hear that you're okay after the fall. I could just picture B's concern. :)

I fell over backwards when I was pregnant with J (around 7 months, I think). I was rocking the computer chair and just got a tad too carried away!

  15. I can't believe you only have 19 days left!
I fell towards the end of one of my pregnancies and scared about five years off of my own life. I agree...no more unsupervised walking! ;)

  17. This nesting thing is very real isn't it? Couple WIfe is due in 4 days and she said she can't stop cleaning. I'm nervous for when it's my turn as I already can't seem to stop cleaning. What am I going to do with myself??
Thank you for keeping us up to date. Cannot wait to see pictures of Peanut!
