Meet Ella

IMG_8358

Remember that fantastic baby shower for my cousin Nicole? Well here is the guest of honor, Ella.

Ella was born 6 weeks before Peanut and we were finally able to get them together. Although technically they did see each other on Thanksgiving via Tango. Kids these days are so high-tech.

It seems nearly all of my friends and family are having boys these days so Ella is quite a star.

Do you see her acting like a Diva up there?! At least Daniel and Liam showing a little love.

She inherited her moms freakishly long tongue... and I mean that in the most loving way possible. Gene Simmons would be proud. She also got her daddy's insanely long and gorgeous eyelashes. You must see a picture of them here.

One of the happiest babies ever!

Get this- my cousin Nicole was in labor for 2 1/2 days with her. 2 1/2 days. The horror.

Let's all take a moment to feel bad for Nicole. And shudder. Let's all shudder at the thought.

OK we're done feeling bad for Nicole because she has been blessed in other ways.

On a normal day Ella goes to bed around 10 and sleeps solid until 7 am. That's 9 hours. Apparently she then gets up to eat and may sleep again until around 9 am.

Do your kids sleep like that?

  2. Oh man, sleeps all night like that? What a dream come true. Then again, she may become a bad sleeper as a toddler, and meanwhile Peanut will be snoozing away. ;-)

  3. Would it make you feel better if I told you that my baby slept nine hours at about three months old, then at four months old all hell broke loose and it took three solid months to get her sleeping okay again, and she still wakes up once a night to nurse. Babies, man.

  4. Wow, she is lovely! Oh sleep! Oh my! J has just started sleeping through at seven months. Just in time for teeth to ruin everything I expect! Dan is still a monkey at 3 and Mikey is a dude. There is no rhyme or reason! Keep going!!! Xxx

  6. What precious babies in your family!! Mama is soooo very lucky. Does she know how lucky she is? But then again,
    2 1/2 days.
    Unthinkable!!

  7. yeah...my Judah started sleeping 4 hour stretches a little after 3 months...before that I was lucky to get an hour at a time. 4 hours felt like pure bliss when it started happening. And the only reason he slept those stretches is because I started tummy sleeping him at that point, he had great neck strength so I wasn't worried.

sleep is a tricky thing and every kid is different. I hope you guys work something out soon that gets you all a little rest!

  9. I used the babywise method and my twins were sleeping through the night once they were 2 months old. They are 6 years old now and except for the odd illness, they still sleep like champs. The book is called "On Becoming Babywise" and it was a great guideline on how to teach your baby to sleep. The only thing I would suggest with this book is to take a laid back approach to it. It is definitely possible to become a freaky and weird mom using it.

  11. Yes, My babies were wonderful sleepers. They would go to bed at 10pm and sleep til 5am, wake up for a feeding and then sleep some more until 9 or sometimes 10. My four year old still loves to sleep in :) I was very blessed!
