Hormones anyone?

P1090230

A few days ago I got the urge to clean out the refrigerator. I mean completely clean it out- like remove everything and wash it all down. Of course the urge came from the gag reflex that happens whenever I smell or see anything remotely ick-ish.

I decided to put a movie on but I wanted something familiar so I could just listen along as I cleaned. When Harry Met Sally is always a goood choice and so I turned it on... got out my gloves and started the scrubbing. I can't say I threw much away because B never, ever wastes a thing. Mostly I cleaned bottles and drawers and took little breaks to watch certain scenes from the movie.

Thats when it happened. I've been aware that "mushy hormones" have been going into over-drive lately. Not as in physical mushy but those warm, fuzzy feelings just taking over and wreaking havoc. I get the sniffles more often than usual. B laughs and tells me to go ahead and cry, for absolutely no reason, just go ahead, its ok.

Of course, that always makes me laugh and the feeling to burst into tears passes. He can just see me winding up and he'll say, "Its ok B, just go ahead and cry, I'm right here" and then we both laugh.

But B wasn't home and I found myself watching the adorable scenes with the old couples telling their love stories. Sure enough as I was cleaning the unkown substance that had clearly seeped underneath the shelf and drawer in the refrigerator I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes.

So I sat on the kitchen floor watching those scenes and crying.during.each.one. Then when B came home early I cried again because I was so happy to see him.

I think I need therapy.

  1. Happy tears are good tears! Now if B were making you cry, that would be another story!!

  3. Awwww! I know the feeling. I knew it had hit when I was listening to the radio and some little girl got on and talked about how her Poppa was going to Iraq, and I just let the waterworks start. Ah, hormones. :)

  4. I strongly suggest avoiding country music until the hormones pass. So cheesy/sappy, but I cried every stinking time I listened.

  7. I remember getting all choked up and crying over a johnson and johnson baby bath commercial! Waaahhhhh!!!! That chunky baby was just so damn cute. Also there's the flip side the cranky pregnant hormones, hope you haven't had any of that.

  8. You are smart to realize that those hormones are giving you some kind of ride. Just hang in there and know just how lucky you are to have a loving hubby who understands and support.

    You're gonna be just fine!!!
