A little giveaway for you!

book 001

We did very little shopping in New Zealand but don't you think for a second that I forgot you! I had every intention of doing this giveaway as soon as I hit 100 followers...which happened some time last month.

book 002

Hello 106 friends! I'm so very happy that you stop by and leave your thoughts. It completely makes my day.

I've been very bad at visiting you lately but I will be catching up. Sometimes life gets in the way of my blog reading. The nerve.

book 003

But that doesn't mean I don't think of you. All of my invisible friends. I've started talking about you to friends and family as if we've all known each other for years. "Oh my friend so and so did this the other day and told the funniest story about it....."

book 004

I just had to bring you back something from New Zealand.

I think New Zealand as a country should now make me their national spokesperson. I'd gladly promote their country for a free trip here and there.

Will blog for meat pies.

book 005

This lovely photographer Andris Apse has been photographing New Zealand for over 25 years. He really catches the magic of the ladscape in a way that is second to none.

I think I want to be him when I grow up. He is wildly talented and appears to spend his time travelling the world and taking pictures of amazing landscapes. Throw in local foods, a blog to babble on and you pretty much have my dream job.

Contest starts now and ends on Sunday night. Winner will be announced on Monday.

So leave me a comment telling me what job you think would be awesome to have (realistic to your situation or not) and you've entered to win!

  1. OOhh beautiful! That would be such a cool job...but I think that since I'm more of a portrait than a landscape photography fan, my dream job is to be a wedding photographer!

  4. For me? A little giveaway for me? In fact, I'm not entering as I know this beautiful book would be wasted in the melée of my household and I'd never have a moment to sit and let its serenity sink in. But I'm cheering everyone else on.

  5. I would love to be a designer of everything...greeting cards, decorative art, dishes...create gorgeous books. I say that but the stress of deadlines would probably kill me. But it's still a little dream:) What a great give-away!!

  6. I think I would be a fabuous personal assistant...to be involved in all aspects of someone's life - personal & business. One who knew what the person wanted before they could even verbalize it. Not just the everyday things but the big projects too. Yeah, that is what I would love. I just wish I knew some really weathly people who could afford that. :)

  8. How gorgeous! I'm not a regular, just hopped over here from LeAnna's (Thoughts & Whatnots). :)
    Do two things count?
I really want to be a mom, and I would love to be a foreign missionary. I pray they kinda collide one day, but for now I'll dream about them so I can have a chance at a New Zealand photography book. :)
Thank you! I've enjoyed meeting you via blog. ;)

  9. I'm already retired but if I were to do it all over again...Hmmm, I could be a good nurse. Or I'd be a mom many times over. I'd learn to cook really, really well. I would like any job wherein I was helping people.

  10. Dawn,

This is super easy for me, I would want one of those traveling channel jobs like Samantha Brown, this way you could travel and experience everything about places, people and the culture and bring that back and show everyone else. It also makes travel plans easier when you have seen things and want to experience them yourself or know what you wouldn't want to do.

For example I love your black water rafting tour and aquarium visit along with the Lord of The Rings tour to Hobbiton. These experiences alone make me want to plan a trip to New Zealand.

Now the sky tower thing, we'll thats a no brainer for me. Nope, I think I'll pass on that one. I've seen your pictures and for one that hates heights, you've saved me.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  12. I would love to travel and write my own travel to Ireland books. You know the ones, little tidbits and little known facts about a fabulous country...
Please sign me up for your contest! My nephew gets back today from New Zealand after spending all winter there. This would be a perfect birthday present for him to remember his adventure.

  13. oooh, what a gorgeous book! I've been debating this question recently! I'm wondering about speech and language therapy or (and this is a bit weird) either making or fitting prosthesis and orthotics! I think these are pregnancy fantasies - because I CAN'T go and do these things at the moment, I'm really keen!!!

I'm with you on the bloggers/friend thing... "my friend got married and went to new zealand on her honeymoon... umm, actually I'm just her stalker!!"

I would like to own a microbrewery and small town family style restaurant with amazing BBQ and comfort food, all seasonal and beyond delicious. I would like to own an over the top spectacular fabric store. And, I would like to own a company along the same lines as Cabelas/REI type thing, for outdoor and camping and offroading equipment. Ok, I guess I can't just pick one thing. :-) That book looks GORGEOUS!

I really enjoy helping others so some sort of nonprofit gig but if it could include my love of thrifting, decorating, cooking it would be amazing. For now even though it's my hardest job, I really do Love being a Momma even though my co-workers can be a little demanding for goldfish crackers and juice some days! Come see me for a giveaway too :)

  22. You're so sweet to think of us on your honeymoon! I really love being a stay at home mom so that's my first pick but if I had to try something else, I think I'd like to be an organic farmer. ☺ Celeste

  23. I was fortunate enough to have the best job as a stay at home mom! I don't think there is a more important and rewarding job. However now that my kids are out of the house I am thinking I would like to be a Artist of some type (which I try but don't fully believe in myself yet).

  26. Aw, how fun!

Jobs I've always thought sound awesome:

    food writer
    wedding photographer
    patient advocate

  27. I'd always said that in my next life, I'd want to come back as a professional tennis player. Nothing beats getting paid well for what you enjoy doing AND staying fit in the process! :)

Either that or a travel something-or-other, where I have an excuse to just see the world, meet different people, taste different kinds of food, snd just simply take it all in. :)

  28. My dream job would be to be an astronaut, ever since about 11 when I discovered the city had a youth club in astronomy and I learned about elliptical orbits and star types... geeky, I know, but there's also something incredibly romantic about the jewel of life, Earth, as viewed from the cold sparseness of space. Makes me think about how precious life is.
Also, I just came back from my very first, month-long solo backpacking trip in New Zealand (in December/Jan), it was a life-altering experience and your giveaway book is the perfect way to reminisce!
