Meeting Santa

IMG_7972

My mom, my nephew and I took the boys to the mall to get their picture taken with Santa. Peanut had been sleeping and just really didn't want to be woken up.

The pom pom on Santa's hat get hitting him in the face and he really wasn't a fan of the whole process.

Danny sat sweetly while his 2nd cousin fussed and repeatedly fell over.

The binky worked for a second but he isn't really very attached to it and got bored with it pretty quickly.

You can tell by his eyebrows that he isn't really buying this whole santa thing.

Santa was having a hard time keeping him upright and he kept sliding down. His head would bob down and and we'd try to squish him back into place.

Squish

Poor kid. I just stood off to the side laughing and snapping pictures.

The elves snapped away and chose the best picture.....

The Peanut is reeeeaaaallllyyyy excited about Christmas, you just can't tell in the picture. :)

  2. Obviously, he knows at a very early age that while Santa's duds were pretty spiffy, he was obviously not the real deal. Smart Peanut! : )

  4. Tooo cute! Santa was at our local favorite BBQ joint (man, that sounds hick) and Q wanted NOTHING to do with him. Of course, Sprig just sat there.

  5. I love a Santa with a real beard. :) My very favorite was in Illinois for many years. Instead of a santa suit, he wore his work clothes - lederhosen type pants with suspenders, a white billowy work shirt, candy-cane printed lederhosen, his black buckle shoes and round glasses. No hat, no fur, but a real beard, and his shirtsleeves were usually rolled up. He looked like the real thing so much so that I still wonder! The best was when he'd take his lunch break in the food court, front and center. He'd sit eating a sandwich, reading a book or the paper, and the kids would just STARE. (Ok, me too.)

Ahhh, the things we do to our kids! It's the best part of being a parent.

  8. I love that last shot! =) I think your Santa looks like he might be the real deal... even his beard looks real. Was it?

Some of the ones we got over here are bored out-of-job expats who look like they had too much to drink the night before and couldn't wait for their gig to be over so that they could hit the bars again. Ugh. That said, there are some great, jolly ones, too. =)

May you and B have a most magical first Christmas with Peanut!
