I call it "Minimalist"
Well you wanted photos of the nursery! This, my friends, is my new age minimalist nursery.
All we've really done so far is break the apartment complex rules. We've painted the walls a nice light grey. The paint color is called Misty Moonstone. Oh and we took down those awful hanging blinds. Actually, my mom convinced me to paint over the horribly cheap and easily marked walls. I've been wanting to for years. I made her promise to help me paint it back before we leave.
I've also been framing artwork for Peanut's wall. I've decided to include some of the pictures from our engagement session as the colors and shots with the bicycles are just perfect. Some of these will go into a photo album but I'm currently in a constant state of indecision and picture rotation.
Well, there you have it. It'll be a while before I have it together. Until then I'll have to share pictures of the nursery at my parent's house.
Most importantly, please don't slouch. It's so unbecoming.

The color's really nice... in some way calming. At the moment I'm not so much opposed to minimalism. I'm moving into a new apartment next week and I am shocked by the amount of "stuff" I've collected over the years. Actually, after I packed the first 4 boxes I decided to stop and declutter and minimalize before I packed any further. So far it's going slow, but I'm feeling lighter with every item I toss away.
ReplyDeleteMinimalism is good, go with it while you can. A new baby room should be calming for all concerned.
ReplyDeleteLess is best! The framed pictures are a fabulous idea. Can't wait to see the end result.
ReplyDeleteAnd aren't you just the cutest!
This is actually how I decorate. But for me, it is because of lack of knowledge regarding any other way...
ReplyDeleteYou are correct about the slouching. Shoulders down and back, chin slightly up, suck in the gut and tuck the rear. Learned it all in ballet class years ago.
Love your purple in the photo...
Love the green chair, and your bicycle prints! It's going to be so cute, I just know it!
ReplyDeleteThe color is nice! And look at all those photos... decisions, decisions ;) Who woulda' thunk it.... bicycles in the decor? :D -Tammy
ReplyDelete"Don't slouch. . ." lol. Okay, Mom:)
ReplyDeleteI like that color, and it'll be easy to paint over when you move!
ReplyDeleteI think framed photos are a wonderful idea.
well, it's a beautiful chair!
ReplyDeleteDawn,
ReplyDeleteWe broke the rules in our apartment too and painted every wall. I figured they were going to repaint anyway and they could keep our deposit as long as it made living there so much better.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
hahaha-I saw that picture and I immediately sat up straight. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of incorporating your engagement pictures! What a fun idea. Can't wait to see how peanut's room looks when it's all finished. When is your baby shower? That should help move things along decorating wise.
Yay!!! I'm so happy you are going to show us photos... and I love the bicycle theme too!
ReplyDeleteI think its awesome your putting pictures of you and B up in the nursery.
ReplyDeleteI did that for my son's room too. He had a big picture of mommy and Daddy's engangment photo to look at while in his crib. Then for my daughter I had put up a picture of Mommy,Daddy and big brother in a family photo for her to look at. You know, just incase they wake up and miss us, they can have the comfort of seeing our smiling faces at anytime. :)
Can't wait to see the finished project!
How exciting, decorating for your little peanut. Congratulations, seeing the pics of you and the showers really takes me back...what a wonderful time in your life. Take Care, Carrie
ReplyDeleteI know you! This is going to be one classy nursery! Lucky peanut!
ReplyDeleteThe paint color is very peaceful--I like! All the bike stuff is SUCH a cute theme. Peanut's nursery is going to come out so fabulous. Did you cut your hair? It looks shorter? And hey, your slouching is the prettiest slouching I've seen, so slouch away!
ReplyDeleteLook at your little baby belly. I am SO EXCITED for you!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the framed pictures, especially the bicycle picture in the "floating" frame. You have such a good eye!
