I've found that it really varies in taste depending on who makes it (style, ethnicity, added ingredients) so if you like it then I think it's a winner.Dandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13802029144367150181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1510148679606227270.post-80229578900277515202012-01-31T22:42:34.841-08:002012-01-31T22:42:34.841-08:00The fact that you can see bison by your house is m...The fact that you can see bison by your house is mind-blowing. So I became completely addicted to meat pies when we were in New Zealand for our honeymoon. Is that a pasty?! I adored them. The ultimate comfort food! Do you by any chance have a recipe?Dandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13802029144367150181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1510148679606227270.post-83561888469341198082012-01-31T07:51:30.045-08:002012-01-31T07:51:30.045-08:00I ate bison in Colorado last summer and loved it! ...I ate bison in Colorado last summer and loved it! Had a steak salad one night, a steak on another. Both times, far more tender than I anticipated. Sweet, and slightly gamier than beef, though not so much as lamb. If I could find it to buy, I certainly would. I agree, a burger is not the best way to get the flavor.YouSoSpecialhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01487053574922898509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1510148679606227270.post-45524807373848871502012-01-31T06:01:46.439-08:002012-01-31T06:01:46.439-08:00Bison burgers cooked on grills at local summer fes...Bison burgers cooked on grills at local summer festivities. I suppose if it were in the grocery store I might buy it now and then. It's good.

Yesterday I made my first kimchi! Even though I don't know what kimchi is supPOSED to taste like, I think mine turned out pretty good. It's really neat to watch them, as they are native to our state. I haven't made anything cool for the past week...still need to figure out what to do with my beets. I did make a quinoa loaf and while it was incredibly tasty, it wasn't pretty so I didn't take pictures. ;)LeAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360378882035668129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1510148679606227270.post-56775055048002154672012-01-31T05:03:41.558-08:002012-01-31T05:03:41.558-08:00Peanut is going to grow up with having had fabulou...Peanut is going to grow up with having had fabulous food choices and experiences . . . thanks to you . . . Bison at two, (almost?) and I have not, at seventy two.
Something I haven't eaten for a long time is rutabaga and I had it last night with other roasted vegetables. My mom used to make a Cornish Pasty meat pie which had shredded rutabaga, carrots, potatoes, onion, ground round, spices . . .
(Bison would be very good in this.). Pasty was my all time favorite "comfort" food when I was off to college and would come home craving "mom's cooking."Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08723721131329150461noreply@blogger.com
