Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from

Daniel the Pilgrim
and
Peanut the Indian!

Picnik collage

It just wouldn't be a holiday without making the boys take pictures in some kind of prop.

So yesterday in the middle of the thanksgiving preparations
I decided that we needed to make them a pilgrim hat
and an Indian headdress.

No, there was no plan on how to do this
and no I didn't have anything ready for it.

My niece Makayla and I threw these together in less than 30 minutes
after consulting my mom who has made countless costumes over the years
and trying to find things to use (like the oatmeal container as the hat base)
and running out of hot glue (thank goodness felt sticks to felt)
and figuring out how exactly we wanted it....

while both the boys were complaining because it was past nap time
(did I mention this wasn't very well planned out?)
and you can see by the look on their faces they really don't want to sit for pictures.

Why do you do this to us all the time?

Oh boys, just be thankful I didn't plan this ahead.
It could've been so much worse.

Do you know how hard it is to keep a toddler still for a picture?!

While I made the pilgrim hat, Makayla made the headdress.
Don't you love the feathers?
I feel a future Indian costume coming on...

Anyway, she's just as anal meticulous as I am so
given more time I can only imagine how things could go.

This is their imitation of the boys.

Yay!  Clap your hands!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This year I'm thankful for all these turkeys in my life.

I hope you have a wonderful day and eat lots of yummy food!

  4. Happy Thanksgiving! THey looked darling... but how could they not? I DO know how hard it is to make one of those hats, because JJ wanted to be Abraham Lincoln for halloween one year. (Yes, he really did.)

    Enjoy the leftovers!
