I'd just gotten up to go to the bathroom (again) and was trying to find a comfortable position in bed. My left hip has been bothering me and my body has begun to change and become less predictable. I had finally settled down when I felt it.

tap...... tap, tap

I realized I was holding my breath. I looked at the clock to document the moment. I had spent an hour the night before trying to feel something.. anything and yet there it was when I least expected it. For weeks every time I felt anything I wondered if that was my little boy.

This time I was sure. That was a definite tap, tap, tap. Just below my belly button was the confirmation that my little guy was moving in there.

I have a baby growing inside me. And I felt him move. I was so excited I woke up B to tell him. He very groggily tried to sound enthused as he drifted back to sleep. I felt our baby move!

I didn't feel anything else that morning but I floated on a cloud the rest of the day. Around 5 pm I felt a little flutter... like fairy wings or butterfly kisses. I giggled to myself as I laid by the pool.

It's the most amazing feeling. Every day brings an extra dose of reality...and joy...and anxiety... and wonder...and awe.

Well hello Peanut, I'm here.

~sigh~

  13. Awww!!! Your peanut said hello!! That's so exciting!
You know what's funny. The morning I went into labor with Bug, I woke Jeff up to tell him and he said "okay" and went back to sleep. ?!?!?!? How boys subdue their excitement, I'll never know. :o)

  14. You look adorable! I remember those little flutters. It feels wonderful to have that little person inside of you moving around. I enjoyed every minute of being pregnant.

Wait till peanut gets in your rib cage and you can't breathe! You have a lot of things to go through yet. It will be fun.

  15. Peanut made me cry again. Im so excited for you, though I can tell you that the tap will become a full on somersault with elbows and knees, that maybe disturbing to the outside viewer. Its fun no matter what though, and at some point you will be able to move him out of your lung space. HEH.

  17. It really is the most amazing feeling in the world! Even in a few months, when he is getting so big you can hardly eat, sleep or breathe, you'll still love it. Something our husbands will never fully understand.
    Your belly is adorable!

  18. Isn't it wonderful? I remember those moments very well. The awe, the reverence you feel when it really sinks home that you are growing a human being in there. And it gets so much better when the really get rocking in there. Some women complain about being kicked to pieces but I adored every minute of the belly watch and trying the guess what part was where. Enjoy! Jaxx
