Please say yes.

As for pregnancy cravings so far.... citrus and fruit like watermelon, pineapple, apples, peaches, hmmm all fruit I guess and more citrus. And then dishes with citrus like lemon pasta and then desserts with citrus like the above Meyer Lemon and Strawberry Ice Cream

Of course I'm willing to branch out but it's the first time in my life I'm going more for citrus than for chocolate. I don't think it will last long :)

Did you have any pregnancy cravings? Are there certain things you crave in the spring and summer?

  1. MONTHS ago on twitter you said you had a need for citrus and I nearly replied joking that you must be pregnant! That was my craving in the early months both times, plus cheese on toast - really anything with good mature cheddar!!

I'm now on a mango and pineapple kick - again, this is what I was in to towards the end with Dan! Plus giant mugs of hot chocolate (it's for the calcium, haha)!

Let's not talk toooo much about the icecream, crisps and cake cravings that have gone inbetween!!!!!!!!! Enjoy - I say give in to the cravings, it's not long before we have to go back to being restrained!!

  2. There I go, reading before breakfast. Now I am starving and there is no ice cream anywhere in the house. Rats! I wonder if I can make some lemon bars today? I may have to.

  3. I bought some strawberries yesterday, and they are sooo sweet. I do believe I'll be dipping some in chocolate. Oh yes, oh yes I will. I craved nothing but pineapple and chocolate milk with Q, and this go around it's just anything sweet. But lemons are right up there, still going to make your lemon bars sometime. I must. ;)

  4. All of those things looked so yummy. I craved peaches with Big chick. I ate several a day. I can't remember with my other one. To be honest I just ate everything in sight. The only thing that didn't sound good was Taco Bell:)

  5. I loved mandarin oranges with the first kiddo, strawberries for kid number 2 and this baby likes mangos! I also have partaken of chocolate all 3 pregnancies and ice cream and any other food that appeals. The real question is what do you have aversions to? If you are craving citrus that is good the vitamin C helps you absorb iron so you will be less likely to get anemic. I also drank alot of ruby red grapefruit for awhile.

  6. I'm not pregnant (whew! if I were, I'd make a fortune selling my story! lol) but your photos of citrus have caused me to put lemons on my grocery list for today!!!

  7. I think those strawberries would be an acceptable dinner for a non-pregnant, menopausal woman:)

  8. My second pregnancy was the only one that I had cravings with. I would eat a small jar of salsa and four or five oranges every single day per my cravings! That baby was born with bright red hair (my only red head) and it turns out my mother-in-law craved spicy foods and lemons with my husband and he had red hair when he was born too. Probably just a coincidence, but kind of funny.

  9. All of the above. I didn't need to see that chocolate - yum! And I was looking at your recipe for the ice cream the other day on Tasty Kitchen and talked myself down from the edge. It all looks good to me but shouldn't have any of it since bathing suit season is upon us. Ugh.

  10. Strawberries, watermelon, lemon, anything citrus and sour.
With the first one it was milk.
I gave in a little too much the first time around and gained 73 pounds. I needed to gain a little more than average as I was only 95 pounds at the beginning, but wow I didn't really want to gain that much. I'm pretty sure it was the daily run to Dairy Queen for whatever was on special (the baby needed calcium, at least that's my official story).

  13. You are like me! I craved any juicy fruit during my pregnancy. Mmmm. And yogurt and cereal with cold milk. Yum!! In summer, I can't wait for berries of all kinds. And nectarines!
