Blog Aid for Haiti

I know that I've already featured a couple of ways to help Haiti on here but as fellow bloggers I thought this project was more than impressive.

Julie Van Rosendaal of Dinner with Julie came up with the concept of creating a cookbook featuring recipes (and amazing pictures of each and every recipe) by 27 extremely fantastic food bloggers. We're not just talking about some home printed standard recipe book. The blog community opened up and reached out and the book came together with professional stylists. Its called Blog Aid, Recipes for Haiti.

They have been working round the clock to produce a cookbook (in both hardback and softback) in a record 3 weeks. Can you believe that? 100% of proceeds will go to Haiti via Doctors Without Borders.

This is the best part... they have partnered with two companies, Blurb in San Francisco and West Canadian Graphics to oversee the production of the book. Wait thats not the best part, this is: Both of the companies will match sales up to $10,000 and up until February 12th the Canadian government will match that.

The cookbook features bloggers such as Tartelette, Gluten-free Girl and the Chef, Sweet Amandine, Tea & Cookies, Matt Bites and The Traveler's Lunchbox. Check these blogs out and you'll find fantastic food with gorgeous photos.

Have I blabbed enough? You can use the button up top to link to THIS SITE where you can purchase the cookbooks from Blurb. Buy a book for a Valentine's gift! Hint, hint. B are you reading this? They will be printed as ordered and you should receive them about 8 days later. B, its OK if I don't get my book by V-day.

Check out a preview of the cookbook HERE!

One last update: Julie did a tally before she went to bed on Feb. 4th the same day the book became available and there were 488 books sold which means over $20,000 CAD raised for Haiti in one day. The blogging community should be pretty darn proud.

Current total 1,111 books sold as of 2/8 9:00 am pst
