The day after tomorrow

nom

I marry my spazzy, weird, crazy, mellow fiance. I have never in my life met someone so completely comfortable with themselves. Its contagious. Its adventurous. Its sometimes challenging.

Like when I'm in my crap clothes out and about and he insists on going into Cartier to look at some eye candy. I try and explain you don't just waltz into Cartier in your yoga pants and ask to look at a watch you were admiring in the window. Of course as I'm saying this he is already in the store having a grand conversation with the salesman. The salesman who is his buddy by the time we leave.

blk white picnic

When I am with this man we've actually gone into restaurants that are filled with people who don't speak English and look at menus that are not written in English and just point at a random menu item when we order.

This man is spazzy when I am rigid. He makes me laugh when I want to scream. He slows me down when I am too busy rushing forward. He makes me so happy I cry, more often than I would like to admit. He is sneaky though. He is so quiet you don't think he is paying attention. He is totally content sitting in silence.

My crazy fiance chose bright royal blue shoes for the wedding. Royal blue adidas. Royal blue adidas to go with his fancy black tux. So we bought all the groomsmen tennis shoes too. All different kinds in black and white. And I bought myself some royal blue shoes.

This man that tucks me into bed at night is going to be mine forever.

FOR-EV-VER, FOOOR-EEEVV-VVEEEER, FFOOOOORRRRRR-EEEEEVV-VVEEEERRR! (sandlot anyone?)

Forever is such a very long time and yet it doesn't seem long enough.

Excuse me while I become a sappy mess.

Do you think it would be weird for me to bring my camera to the wedding and take pictures of all the food? :)

  1. Aww this post is so sweet it almost made me cry!!! I am so happy for you :) Oh and I totally approve of the idea to bring your camera to your wedding to take pictures of the food...in fact I think that would be a perfect photo op for your photographer. Imagine the caption: "The True Blogger"

  2. What a beautiful post! You guys are so lucky and cute :)

And I think I'm kind of *expecting* you to snap photos of your wedding WHILE it's going on...You could dress your camera up in a little bells/rings/doves paraphernalia so it'll not be too conspicuous. Wait, what?

    NO BELLS/RINGS/DOVES??

Good luck anyway :) Have a beautiful day!

  3. Such a wonderful post! By the way, it's your wedding, if you want to take your camera-do it. If you want to stand on your head and sing a song at your wedding, go for it. Thats the great thing about this wedding-It's all yours and your spazzy fiance's (aka husband)-So cool.

    Have fun!

    Robin~♥

  4. OMG, B read my post and commented back! Do you see the anonymous comment at the top?!

He calls me B too, if that helps clear things up :)

  5. Awwwww! Your B and my B sound so much alike, I think they could be brothers from another mother. Seriously, what would we do without these adventurous free spirits who aren't conformed to societies status quo and REVEL in being their own people??? We'd be miserable and unhappy gals, that's what! So excited for ya, girl.

  6. I don't think I've been happier to see two people get married than you two....ever. Seriously. I will be channeling lots of love your way the day after tomorrow.

And as for the photos...I think it would be weird if you didn't... : )

  10. Oh my goodness I am so excited for you....and of course you should have your camera at the wedding and should take pictures of the food. We would expect noting less. And also we would expect a picture of you taking a picture of the food.

  11. Of course you can take your camera! I love the idea of dressing it up with tulle. You know, we're expecting some real time blogging on the big day;) B and your guests won't mind, will they?

  12. Girl if there aren't pictures of the food I'm going to launch a protest. Tell your camera guy he better be prepared to lend you his equipment if you don't have room in your purse for your own! :)

YAYAYAYAYAYA I'm so excited for you! :)

  13. What a great tribute to your B. (sniff) I can't tell you how happy I am for you!
What made me LOL was how you wrote so eloquently from your heart about your wonderful hubby to be ... and then you totally go in another direction about food pics!!! I love it!! That is probably how your life is right now ... Very sentimental emotions with spurts of practicality like ... "I gotta get as organized as I can be!"
    You are wonderful!!
    Hugs!

  14. I just adore your sentiments. B knows that he is one lucky guy to have you as his wife. I know that there will never be a dull moment with the two of you side by side.

I totally smiled and almost shed happy tears when I read this. Yes, one more day and counting. Please, pretty please...take pictures of the food, the shoes, the ceremony. Hey, maybe you can livestream it so we can all be there???

  15. As amused as I would be to think of you with your camera, take some photos of the getting ready parts, then leave it in your hotel room. Enjoy your day! That's what you hired a fabulous photog for -- just make sure she knows you want lots of food pics, too.

And I love that he commented!

  16. yipppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Read this post if you ever have moments of feeling grumpy with B - it'll stop you in your tracks!

I'd love to see your pics of the wedding... but make sure you're enjoying the day rather than hiding behind a camera!! xxxxxx

  17. This is beautiful! B gets the stamp of approval in blog world. He almost deserves someone as wonderful as you.

Now, as for the camera-- I know a bride who stopped at the entrance of the church to take pictures of the congregation waiting for her to enter! Go where the spirit moves you!

    Have a wonderful wedding weekend!

  18. Haha, I think it would be perfect if you brought your camera. That will so be me, except taking pictures of all my friends. I'm the one who always has the camera, so it'll be weird to be on the other side of it.

Love love love these sweet pictures of you two. Bring on the sappy, I got tears in my eyes reading this!

  19. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it would be weirder for you NOT to bring your camera and use it! :) Congratulations!!!

  20. I have been married for 18 years and I never think that we will have enough time together. You just write so beautifully about B and I love that. I also love your red shoes:) Please do take photos of the food. I can't wait to read all about it.
