Nap Time
The picture was taken in Ghiradelli Square in the afternoon. This gentleman sat on the bench for a rest during his break.
I've started about 23 posts and I just keep coming back to this picture.
I think we should all have nap time, don't you?
"There is more refreshment and stimulation in a nap, even of the briefest, than in all the alcohol ever distilled." ~Edward Lucas
I just love this man. This chocolatier with his handle bar mustache.
"I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?"
~Ernest Hemingway
I can't really remember the last time I took an afternoon nap. I'll have to schedule one in. I believe I have an open afternoon in January.
Strike that. I took a nap last week. Actually, I fell asleep for an hour only to wake up in a panic realizing I was late for my work out. I don't think that counts.
Doesn't a nap sound refreshing?
This black and white is for Mrs. E!
He looks familiar! LOL, dose he work at the seafood restaurant across from Ghiradhelli?
ReplyDeleteGreat capture! I love his handlebar mustache.
ReplyDeleteNaps refreshing? Tell that to Josh. He absolutely refuses to nap anymore. Wait 'til he's my age... if I'm still around, I'll remind him of all the naps that he could've taken while he could!
Great picture! I love his mustache!
ReplyDeleteLove naps! I take one whenever I can ... which isn't that often!
That is an excellent picture! I love naps but don't get them too often. I perfected the art of the 15 minute cat nap when I was in college. It got me through nursing school.
ReplyDeleteThe Hemingway quote is spot on.
ReplyDeleteAs is the mustache.

I'm jealous of nappers. Especially that napper. I love him.

I am a Sunday afternoon napper. My hubby always gives me a little grief about it. It was mandatory in our household growing up and it has stuck with me. I refuse to give them up. Whatever sort of mocking he sends my way. : )
ReplyDeleteI've always said that Mexico is on to something with that whole siesta thing... the rest of the world needs to catch up. My last nap was...um...hmmm....my memory doesn't go back that far, at least 2 years. Before Wonder Baby.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture way lots. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is just pure photographic magic.
ReplyDeleteI would take a nap daily if my bosses would let me but they are little task masters. You'd think six and eight year old bosses would be easy to persuade.... but you'd be wrong. They're whip crackers.
I love that picture--put it in black & white and it could be from many decades back!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the Hemingway quote...and it was quite true for him, I think. (Sometimes, me too!)
a nap sounds wonderful right about now and it is only 8:41 AM! what is wrong with me? Great photo and perhaps after the wedding you can schedule in a nap or two with your new Hubby!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture! SO adorable and peaceful. Gotta love that handle bar mustache too! I love naps when I can get them in, just makes you feel so much better and wide awake when you take one. I remember these in kindergarten with your blankie!
ReplyDeleteUpon awakening, we got cold milk and a warm cookie. Doesn't that just make taking one sound better??
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
How funny! Chocolate making is an exhausting business. With all your wedding planning, I think you deserve a long, honest nap.

PS Love your countdown to tying the knot! FUN!
I totally forgot to title the post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments, I think Shannon is on to something with the Sunday afternoon naps!
I need to work in Ghiradelli Square! Ohhh how I love their chocolate. And this picture. Naps are good & sometimes refreshing. They just don't happen often enough, and I love this man's style (and 'stache!). -Tammy
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny. I really want a nap right now, I've been under the weather. But I may have to go get some chocolate chips from my kitchen....
ReplyDeleteHi there! I clicked over from your comment on Debbie's blog...what a nice place you have here! I love this post :) That man has refreshed *me* with his spur of the moment nap.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll follow :) Nice to meet you!
Makes me wanna take a nap right now!
ReplyDeleteI love his mustache! If I were his wife I would probably spend hours helping him get that curl just right. I love naps! But I tend to wake up more sleepy after they're over than I was before, so I don't take them on my lunch breaks anymore.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I finally finished messing with my blog template, let me know what you think!
Great picture! Naps are the best, when I manage to get 'em!
ReplyDeleteThis picture is completely fabulous. I mean, downright amazing I'm in love.
ReplyDeleteWith you, not him.
Ok, maybe him.
A little.
