I was stressed yesterday and trying to relax. I've been having a hard time getting to sleep lately. I only fall into a deep sleep appoximately 12 minutes before I have to wake-up. And then the alarm goes off and my eyes feel like someone poured lemon juice in them. Any tips or tricks or rituals you do to get to sleep? How much sleep do you need to get to function?
So, in order to get to my happy place for a nice, restful sleep, I was thinking about Christmas. The holiday season makes me happy and fills me with joy!
Sheesh, dreams can be a powerful thing! I woke up this morning (15 minutes before I had to leave- remember to turn up the alarm when you put ear plugs in) and a little peice of Christmas was staring me in the face.
In the form of Rudolph's nose. There is a "blemish" in the tip of my nose, an overall redness actually. Something about the word zit makes me feel yucky and pimple just doesn't do it justice. So today I'll be Rudolph. Follow me, I'll light the way!
Then I packed some food and was on my way to work. In the car I realized that I grabbed the wrong bag so it looks like I'll be eating 2 bananas, a grapple and some nectarines for today.
And then I spent a minute focusing on all the wonderful things that are going to happen today... none of which has happened yet.... but I'm sure they will. I ended my ride to work with some Christmas music. Oh yes, I did.
I realize that majority of you probably despise Christmas music during the holidays. But today, I listened to the lovely and amazing Nat King Cole sing A Christmas Song. And it made me clap.

Just read through all your posts! Very lovely to read you, I'll be visiting again soon. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! I'll have to come back here - great posts!! - Tammy
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading through your posts. It's fun to meet another "rambler." Those random thoughts are such fun! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I loved your thought about buying books to fill the shelves of a library you don't have yet. That's the way I buy them too...books for a library I don't have in a life I've yet to live. Nothing else explains all the farming books (in the middle of the city), or the crafting and knitting books (in a house with three pre-schoolers). Books are hope, escape, and comfort. They're also cheaper than therapy.:-)
ReplyDeleteHey Dawn,
ReplyDeleteYou made lemonade today ... you know, if life gives you lemons ...
Good for you!
Your blog is lovely!
Thanks for visiting mine!
I love Christmas too!!!! There is nothing like it.......the tree, the pressies, the food, the family and friends, just the whole thing, the stores all decorated, the caroling on the streets in NYC.......LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteLove Rudolph. C'mon, who doesn't love him????
Cannot wait until my little vegemite is old enough to share all of this.......
You have a lovely blog! What an interesting read for me. I love your photos. Thanks for visiting my blog the other day.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I commented on the WRONG POST hahaha...
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant to say for *this* post was that I'd have that song in my head all day.
Which I do.
"Here we know that Christmas will be clean and bright..." :)
OH, a kindred spirit! I have Christmas late every June or early July. It's just too long to wait a whole year. My husband laughs, but I drag out all the music and movies each summer. In fact, I just watched It's a Wonderful Life today.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was still living in the Philippines, the radio stations would blare out Christmas music as soon as the -ber months hit --so, as early as September! I miss that now. We don't even have a decent English radio station here in HK! :(
ReplyDeleteI am just loving all this holiday spirit in the middle of summer!
ReplyDeleteI think I love you!! :-) Another Christmas fanatic here. I usually start the Christmas tunes around April and continue thru Dec :-D Christmas just makes me so happy!!
ReplyDeleteI watched Steel Magonlias (again) last night and I realized one of the things I love about that movie is that, for me, it's so visually appealing. The big wedding scenes, then the Christmas scenes (the festival and the way the house is decorated for the holidays; LOVE that!). Then the Halloween and July 4th decorations everywhere. Even though it's a sad movie, the scenery makes me happy.
Fun blog! I'll stop by again :-)
I love your blog, you crack me up!! thanks for setting me straight on mine, your seriousness was provoked and appreciated! haha!!! I'm totally about to pee my pants from your bobopsy post.
